Samsung’s new smartwatch Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, which will be introduced in July, was leaked with a live photo ahead of its official launch. This image of the model, whose existence was previously confirmed by various certification records, confirmed that the company has brought back the classic rotating bezel design that it had abandoned for a while.
Galaxy Watch 8 officially revealed
In the leaked photo, the watch’s case is seen to have a square shape with rounded corners, confirming previous rumors. In addition to this design language called “Squircle”, the most striking element is the return of the physical rotating bezel, which was not found in the Galaxy Watch 7 series. It is stated that the bezel in the new model has a more refined structure. There are three physical buttons on the right side of the device and a speaker grill on the left side.
The most radical change in the design was in the strap connection system. The new mechanism seen on the prototype has a different structure than the standard system used in previous Galaxy Watch models. This means that existing straps compatible with old watches cannot be used with the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic model.
According to the information that came with the leak, the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic will be available for sale with a single case size of only 46mm. The device will have 64GB of internal storage, a significant increase compared to previous generations.
On the software side, the watch will come out of the box with the Wear OS 6 operating system and the One UI 8 Watch interface. No innovation is expected on the processor side; it is reported that the model will get its power from the Exynos W1000 chip, which is also used in the Watch 7 and Watch Ultra.
